It drains to the nearest body of water.
Storm drains keep our streets from flooding by collecting water that
rushes down the street when it rains. All this water goes through pipes that
lead out to creeks, lakes, streams and
eventually Commencement Bay. The water is not treated or cleaned as it
goes. This means that most of whatever runs down the road, like car oil, fertilizers,
pesticides, toxic chemicals, litter or manure will flow out into our waterways.
We need to reduce the amount of pollution that gets into our storm drains.
Keep answering questions to find out more about how to reduce that
pollution.
