Ball Catchers
These catchers are great for children whose hands are too small to catch a
ball.
Rating: MEDIUM Adult Supervision Required? YES
What you need
-
2 clean, empty gallon milk jugs
-
Scissors
-
Colored electrical tape, permanent markers or craft paint
-
Ball to play with
How to make it
-
Make sure the milk jug is clean and empty.
- Cut the bottom off the container. This may be difficult so have a parent help you.
Cut out a U-shape under the handle (see photo). Be careful not to cut off the handle. Watch for sharp edges (cover outer sharp rim with tape for safety).
- Use the colored electrical tape, permanent markers or craft paint to decorate your ball catcher. You may even use stickers to decorate it.
- Create a second ball catcher with the other milk jug. You can decorate it in a different way.
- Now you are ready to play catch! Toss a ball back and forth with a partner and catch it in your new ball catcher!
