Bag Holder

A great way to hold all those plastic bags that are ready to be re-used.

Rating: MEDIUM
Adult Supervision Required? YES

What you need

  • Large, old, long-sleeved shirt
  • Needle and matching thread
  • Decorative ribbons, string or yarn
  • Scissors
  • Old plastic bags

How to make it

  1. Cut the arm off a long-sleeved shirt.

  2. Turn the sleeve inside out.

  3. Fold down the end that you just cut (about 1 inch). You are going to hem this.

  4. Using thread, neatly sew the end down.

  5. To make a handle: Sew a ribbon to one side of the sleeve, then sew the other end of the ribbon to the other side of the sleeve (see picture).

  6. Turn the sleeve right-side out.

  7. Add extra ribbons to decorate if you wish.

  8. Stuff your grocery bag holder with old bags and hang somewhere with easy access. Next time you need a bag you know where to go!
