Primary Purpose:   To serve as the primary advisory group to the City Manager to provide guidance, advice, expertise and recommendations regarding the Phase II development and implementation of the Management & Analysis Report recommendation related to the Broadway Center for Performing Arts.

                             The membership of the Steering Committee shall consist of persons representative of the various performing arts stakeholder groups/organizations, who have demonstrated a deep interest in and appreciation of cultural and performing arts activities in the Greater Tacoma area.

Functions:                 Functions of the Steering Committee include, but not limited to the following:

·    Review and making recommendations with reference to the successful development and implementation of solutions consistent with the intent of Option I recommendation of the Management Analysis Report on the BCPA.

·    Provide guidance, advice and expertise to the City of Tacoma in restructuring the operating agreement with BCPA or another local non-profit entity to achieve stated desired outcomes.

·    Serve as primary source for input and feedback from constituent groups and organizations to the development process.

·    Assist in the selection of sub-committee members, set standards, and give directions for sub-committee make-up and purpose

·    Assist in resolving “boundary” - issues that may occur between sub-committee areas.

·    Provide guidance and assistance to consultant/facilitator in process design and methodology.

·    Assembling recommendations from Sub-Committee into final report.

·    Serve with enthusiasm, as ambassadors to the performing arts community of funders, donors, patrons, elected and appointed officials, BCPA Board, and resident arts organizations to garner their understanding, support, and endorsement of the BCPA Steering Committee’s recommendation.

·    Adhere to timeline as outlined to finish assigned tasks.

·    Work with communication resources to assure all stakeholders are well informed.
